Volunteer at The Grief Play Cafe

At the grief play café, this runs one Sunday morning a month to support families who are navigating a grief journey, the café is a positive safe space for children within the family to play and make bonds with other children, parents/grandparents to have time out with other parents and volunteers who have some understanding of what they are going through.

Volunteers have various roles from helping at a craft activity to serving drinks within the café area. They can also put down to support in the reflection room which a space where adults attending the café might use if they feel overwhelmed or need additional support.

Art Therapy Session

Volunteer as a Family Support Mentor (FSM)

Some volunteers are allocated as Family Support Mentors (FSM), usually this volunteer would have a background in childcare but this is not essential. The FSM will be allocated to a particular child or family to give additional support during a café session.

Volunteer as a Community Volunteer

If you would like to help, but supporting at the café is not for you, then you might find the Community Volunteer Role more suitable. These volunteers support us by helping run stalls within the community at fairs and information days etc.

Full information is given about the charity and relevant training provided where necessary. Attending these events are a vital way of raising money for the charity so we can continue to support children and their families but also raise awareness about what we do and the ways we can help.
